At this point, I don't know if the cost is constant per level for every type of Merc...

I know that they start out the same, but it could start varying once beyond a certain level.

I had a quick look, most of my heroes are at level 35 troops, its 144000 souls across the board to go to 36, regardless of type, so I would assume that all merc upgrade levels are the same

New question -

I'm running an inverse 'Townhall rush' method which means I will update every building & wall to max before jumping to the next TH level. I'm about 2 days away from TH9, which is needed to jump my Ancient Relic to Level 3. Without Lvl3, I cannot access Allied winds at all and my 'Ranged Combat' options are also stuck at what you see below. However, since I have regularly gone through Campaign Clash, I have a bunch of Mystic Crystals saved.



Question is -
- Is there a block on Relic / passive skill upgrades which demands a Level 4 Ancient Relic?
- I'm leaning heavily towards dropping all the collected Mystic Crystals into Ranged Combat. Anyone have suggestions?

I currently have
Pounder (Libra, Skill 16, Merc 30+1),
Sapphirix (Taurus, Skill 7, Merc 14),
Pangoli (Virgo, Skill 16, Merc 40+3),
Skull Mage (Skill 16, Merc 35+2) and
Chiron (Gemini, Skill 18, Merc 35+2) as my main line heros.

OtgUK, my question is more along the lines of 'Will I be forced to upgrade Ancient Relic past Level 3 to continue to still higher level Passive Skills?"

For example -  I now know that Ancient Relic @ Level 2 is limited to Level 10 'Ranged Combat' passive skill and I have no access to Allied Winds at all.

Is there a limit to how high I can push a passive skill before it demands an Ancient Relic upgrade again?

What are the highest levels you've seen for Allied Winds and Ranged Combat? Final cost in Crystals?

I finally got to TH9 and got my Ancient Relic to Level 3. I immediately maxed out my Ranged Combat and the newly available Allied Winds, before it demanded a Level 4 Ancient Relic.

From what I understand of your comment, by the time Ancient Relic hits Level 6, the upgrades themselves are maxed (not due a Ancient Relic level limitation). Since you mentioned that your Allied Winds' 'Build Cost Savings' is at 29, how many crystals does it cost to jump to the next level?

I have my winds maxxed except for the cost reduction.  My reasoning is that It's easy to make gold, so why spend all those crystals into lowering the cost.  It would save me around 300k per set of 4 spells, which is trivial to me.  But spending those thousands of crystals is not.  My winds costs 115k gold per spell now.

I'd been making Emperor pretty consistently over the past few seasons, but I got to Legend today.

A lot of people said that hunting for 'Front bases' and opponents with 1100-1200 points was the way to go. All of which seems correct. My own 'Front base' seems to have pushed forward opponents weaker than me ahead of me, so I got an easy bye a few times.

In the past 15 days I lost to FotD about half the time. But, it seems that COL2 adjusts scores of your opponents accordingly. All the way until today (last day of Arena season on Amazon version) I was getting opponents worth 1700-1800 points.

Also noticed that my Campaign Clash starting level immediately jumped 10 levels on my reaching Legend in Arena. Lesson learnt - Finish your Campaign first folks!

I did win the last FotD. 'Death' as you see in the screenshot above.

A nice side effect of losing to a FotD is that the next is a bit easier. Today's FotD gave me 6000 points, which definitely helped me get to Legend.
